    Unanswered: SQL Server reporting services

    Good day,

    I have a problem that I didn't have a few hours ago.

    When I go to http://localhost/reports/Pages/Folder.aspx I see say 3 report and 2 folder and in these 3 folders there are 2 reports each. However when I go to http://localhost/reportserver/ I do not see any of the reports or folders. I have developed these reports via VS 2003 and deployed them to the various folders. Even if I create the folder in /reports/Pages/Folder.aspx they do not show up in /reportserver

    Can anyone help me with this please? At the moment I can edit and deploy the reports but my web applications that then use these reports cant run them it just shows the http://localhost/reportserver/ page when you try and run a report?

    PLEASE, any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Grant permissions to the folder that you want the users to see. When you open http://localhost/reports page, click on Properties tab, and you will see Security settings. Go from there to set up permissions for your users.

    PCNAME\IUSR_PCNAME --> Browser, Content Manager
    BUILTIN\Administrators --> Browser, Content Manager, My Reports, Publisher
    IUSR_PCNAME --> Browser, Content Manager

    It is very strange. It worked in the morning, the server got dropped due to power failure and UPS running out of backup, automatic shut down before time ran out, and when it came back up I had the problem. I have 3 other server that are all fine though....

    I can deploy reports and everything my problem is that when I try and access a report from http://localhost/reports/Pages/Folder.aspx and click on one of the sample reports I have uploaded it doesn't show the report but instead shows me http://locahost/reportserver/ root folder contents, as if there is no report at all.

    Why don't you try uploading a report directly from SSRS by going to Upload File within the reports folder? Also, can you get to the report details and check your assigned data source etc.? When you are in reports, click on show details on the top right, and go to edit.

    I always use the upload function rather than VS deploy function. I'va heard of several issues with the deployment from VS and unexpected changes to the config file etc.

    Thanks spartiatis but that didn't help either, had tried that. In the end after much looking and trying of different things I uninstalled SSRS, re-installed it, and re-deployed all my reports, took about 30 minutes and worked. All my reports are working again and can continue as before. Very strange, still don't know what caused the problem, but the re-install solved it.
