Unanswered: SQL Server 2005 TempDB .mdf file

    Good day,

Can anyone help me please. My tempdb .mdf file has grown to such an extent that my drive is almost completely full. I have tried DBCC shrinkfile and all that but this did not help. My log file is small, about 10Mb, but my mdf file just wont shrink, it is just short of 6Gb and I don't know what to do. I can't stop the server let along restart the server, is there anything I can do to clear out the mdf file?

    Please help.

Have you checked to see if there are any user-created objects in tempdb?

There are 74 temporary tables, # tables, don't see anything else though.
