Unanswered: Copying DB to another pc

    Hi All.....
I'm trying to copy a large MD SQL DB from our local server to my local PC.
The Server has MS SQL 2005 and my local PC has MS SQL 2005 Express.
I have created a DB on my pc with the same name as the one on the sever.
When i try to use the 'copy' database, it fails on the connection.
My pc MS SQL Server is set up to use SQL Server and Windows Authentication.
    I'm getting this error:

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 2)

    Any ideas??

I would start by doing a backup (from the server) and then I copy the .bak file to my computer, and then I would do a restore. The copy db wizard has alwats been a POS.
“If one brings so much courage to this world the world has to kill them or break them, so of course it kills them. The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.” Earnest Hemingway, A Farewell To Arms.
