    Unanswered: dblink issue

    Hi guys!

I have request to create dblink from db A to db B...
So guys from db A with user PRD wants to have access to user DEV on db B. Problem is that i already have link wich connects those 2 db's BUT in dblink script it connects diffrent users.
So can i use this publi DBlink from earlier to conect to other users on requested DB?

    Thank you in advance

Basically, no. Why? Because - when creating a database link, you have to specify which schema to connect to (CONNECT TO clause) and its password (IDENTIFIED BY). Therefore, for every new user (schema) you are supposed to create a new database link.

Though, you might create (if possible) synonyms in one schema that will look at data in another schema and access these information via existing database link, but that's - in my opinion - not a very good idea.

You give a new name to the second db link.
