    Unanswered: connecting to ms access database in oracle slq developer

    Hi All,

    I'm trying to create an update script that takes data from an ms access database and populates fields in oracle through SQL Developer. Does anyone know how to connect?

    For example, for me to connect and update an oracle table on one server from an oracle table on another I would use the following syntax where the @PROD.WORLD is the server path to the data.

    UPDATE GISDBA.ASSET_HANSEN_CENTRELINE A SET A.UNITID =
    (SELECT B.UNITID FROM IMSV7.COMPSEG@PROD.WORLD B
    WHERE A.SEGID= B.MAPNO);

    I guess I just wanted to know how I can point to an access database using the same technique.

    Thanks

    Mike

    Do it the same way.
    Create a database link utilizing Oracle's extra cost product Heterogeneous Services.

    by extra cost I assume you mean I'll have to purchase it before I can complete this task?
