Unanswered: IP restriction when connect to DB2UDB

    Hello

I have DB2UDB 8.2 on AIX box. A websphere application opens connection pool to the database. But sometimes I meet some Aqt.exe connections from developer PCs. Is there a way of restriction of IP access to database

    Thanks

Yes. It's called "firewall", and it has nothing to do with DB2. DB2 can restrict access to itself by authenticating users with IDs and passwords, so that you can allow only specific user IDs to connect or access the data.

Yes thats why FW exist. But I would like to know is there something DB level.
For example In Oracle there is Logon Trigger which can check IP address .

In version 9.x there is something called Workload Management that could probably do that (an extra cost feature). DB2 version 8.2 is no longer supported by IBM.

I believe workload identification by IP address is only available in v. 9.7.
