With V10 the default is is Local Managed Tablespace (LMT).
When SYSTEM tablespace is LMT, then no dictionary tablespace is allowed.
You need to manually pre-create the tablespace before starting the import.
You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.

    Code:
    create tablespace "usr" datafile 'c:\database\abdb\datausr1abdb.dbf'
size 5242880 autoextend on next 1310720 maxsize 32767m logging online
permanent blocksize 8192 extent management local
    autoallocate segment space management auto

so this code is to allow to create temporary tablespace. instead of the above create tablespace i use the code of urs?

by the way, i have created the USR tablespace successful using the code above in my first post. then when i create a temporay tablespace(dictionary managed) subsequently, error occurs. So is there another way to change my USR tablespace?

or is there anything that i can do at oracle8.05 to change all the tablespace to local managed before i export? will it affect anything??

    >i have created the USR tablespace successful using the code above in my first post.
Why, oh why, post code that works & complain & whine about error?

    >then when i create a temporay tablespace(dictionary managed) subsequently, error occurs.
Why did you not post the SQL that produced the error?

Too bad CUT & PASTE are broken for you.

I don't like wasting my time with situations like this!

    Enjoy your mystery!
