Unanswered: Keeping the date of when a Report Was Last Updated

Is there a way of keeping the date when a form was last updated without having to update a field in a table?

I have a form which which is based on a table which is updated by multiple append queries. I have placed an unbound text box on the form and was hoping to permanently keep the date of when the form was last run in that field but I cant figure out how to do it without creating a table to keep the date.

I have tried the following which does not seem to work
'Date when Report was last run
Me.[RptLastRun].Value = Date 'this just keeps the date until the form is closed
    Or
Me.[RptLastRun].DefaultValue = Date 'this gives me always 12:00:14 AM

    Is there a way?

    Thanks heaps

The short answer is no. The long answer is that there are (registry comes to mind), but a table is probably the best and easiest anyway, particularly in a multi-user environment. A form will only hold the value until it's closed, and a global variable will only hold it while the application is open.
