    normalisation

Hi. Not really sure where to post/ask this so I'll stick it in here.

I have to normalise a table to 1NF, 2NF and 3NF. I've looked at a few guides online and to be honest with you, I don't get a word of it.

So just wondering if anyone could help me out a bit. Below is the Unnormalised version of the table. Any help/tips/pointers will be much appreciated.

(PK) OrderNo orderDate customerNo customerName productNo name Qty unitPrice
    0/23 01/02/2008 2235 Davies 487 Tiles(blue) 200 0.25
    0/24 08/02/2008 3444 Jones 488 Tiles(white) 300 0.20
    0/25 10/02/2008 3444 Jones 489 Tiles(red) 150 0.25
    0/23 01/02/2008 2235 Davies 340 Grout (1kg) 10 1.25
    0/24 08/02/2008 3444 Jones 340 Grout (1kg) 30 1.25
    0/24 08/02/2008 3444 Jones 342 Cement (1kg) 30 1.50
    0/26 01/02/2008 2237 Evans 488 Tiles(white) 400 0.20

    Many thanks.

we're certainly not going to just hand you the answer to your homework assignment

if you want our help, ~you~ will do all the work, we will only help you understand any difficulties you encounter

so go on, give it a try
