I have installed Sybase PC-client 12.5, with Sybase Central 4.1, on Win XP SP3, and I cant connect. The "OK" button in the connect dialog is greyed out. Dsedit-Ping is ok, Sql-advantage is ok.
ou may need to run a 'top' and see if there is any iowait or high load due to some other issue. If one of your HDDs is having issues it may break sooner or later, and you may also want to check the table to make sure everything is running in order, such as ANALYZE and CHECK and an OPTIMIZE after.
All other applications connects fine to the databases, for example SQL_advantage from the PC. It is just a problem with Sybase Central. My guess is something (?) in the Windows-environment. I had it working on Win XP SP2 before.. but after change of PC i got SP3, and needed to install again. I can't figure out why the OK-button in the "connect dialog" is greyed out.
