    Unanswered: proc running time...

    Hi guys (Oracle 9i)

I'm running a procedure every hour by specifying the time setting as

    Code:
    sysdate+(1/24)
    .

Now when the proc runs (for approx 6 sec), the next_run_date in my application gets set to an hour later + the 6 seconds it took the proc to run.

Is there any other way of specifiying sysdate+(1/24) so that those 6 secs are not taken into account when moving the next_run_date 1hr forward?

    Regards

    You could set it to:
    Code:
    trunc(sysdate,'MI') + 1/24
Then it will always run "on the minute". Or 'HH' instead of 'MI' to run on the hour.
