Question Unanswered: Database Suggesstion for a large portal

    Hello All,

I'm developing a large portal which includes facility for data upload like Documents, Images etc. The website is free for all users. The database size will be around 500 GB. I just wanna to ask which free edition of database should I use (Oracle 10g Express edition, MySQL, PostgreSQL) ? Can any one tell me which is the Best Database according to performance, security, reliability, stability ?

    please reply ASAP.

    Cool Nothing is free

The database size of 500 GB excludes Oracle XE (max size = 4GB).

Both MySQL and postgreSQL (in my opinion) are good, it would be a matter of which one you have knowledge and/or are more comfortable with.

Any of the databases you choose, you will eventually have to pay for support, otherwise you will be on your own.
