Unanswered: SSIS Mail Task: Create attachment from blob?

Hi folks, I'm running in to a bit of a hiccup sending email with attachments in SSIS. The attachments I would like to send live in a blob field and may not be persisted to disk due to operational constraints. Is there a way to provide a MemoryStream/blob to an SSIS mail task as an attachment?

Right now I'm leaning on a quick and dirty homebrew script task using the vanilla .NET 2+ mail facilities. This is dead-easy in straight .NET 2.0 and up as attachment objects accept MemoryStream as an argument in their constructor. However for maintainability I would prefer to use intrinsic SSIS functionality.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

For the record, I ended up going with writing my own mail task after bringing the question up with a few folks who have dealt with this issue before. Apparantly the consensus is the baked in mail task is useless unless you have very simple requirements.
