    Cool Unanswered: New Server Configuration

    We are about to transfer to new Database server with the following specifications :

    - HP DL380 G6
    - Intel Xeon E5520 2.27 GHz
    - 8 GB RAM
    - 2 HDD * 146 GB RAID 0
    - 3 HDD * 300 GB RAID 5
    - Windows 2008 server Enterprise 32 bit

    - Oracle 9i

    the old DB size almost 1 GB

    Question 1 :

    what is the best configuration for SGA , PGA

    SGA
    =====
    Shared Pool ==>
    Buffer Cash ==>
    Large Pool ==>
    Jave Poo ==>

    PGA
    =====
    Aggregate PGA target ==>

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Question 2 :

    the old server was poor so we run oracle without (Archive log mode)
    do you recommend to work with (Archive log mode) in the new server ?

    Yes, run with archive mode enabled.
