Unanswered: Automatic Deadlock Retries in SS05

Is there a way to configure a SQL Server 2005 instance to automatically retry deadlooks, perhaps 5 times, before issuing the deadlock message to the client?

I know this can be done in Sybase using a server configuration parameter but can't find anything comparable for SQL Server 2005.

    thanks for any help.

This is the information I received from Microsoft. There is no retry setting, only something to set the deadlock priority of your session.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
In SQL Server 2005 we don’t have any mechanism to retry queries that are chosen as victim. When one of the SPID is chosen as victim the transaction is rolled back and SQL would never retry. May be the vendor application has a logic to retry a transaction that was cancelled.

The parameter that is available with deadlock is setting the DEADLOCK PRIOROTY.
    SET DEADLOCK_PRIORITY (Transact-SQL)
    SET DEADLOCK_PRIORITY (Transact-SQL)
