Unanswered: 32-bit Reporting Services on 64-bit Windows
I have a 32-bit app that has required me to switch IIS 6 to 32-bit as per the instructions on MSDN. I uninstalled 64-bit version SSRS first, since it wont run on 32-bit IIS, but left the 64-bit Database engine on the server. As per instructions on MSDN I have now tried to reinstall the 32-bit version of Reporting services alongside our SQL instalation which is:
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.1406.00 (X64) Standard Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 2)
But even with the 32-bit version of ASP running ('Allowed' in IIS web extensions folder) I still get the Reporting Services option greyed out when I try to install from the 32-bit SQL Server disk.
I have tried prohibiting the other ASP web extension listing but that doesnt help.
It seems the 32-bit SQL installer cannot see a genuine 32-bit IIS so wont present the option to install reporting Services.
