    Unanswered: SQL Server Trace

    Wotcha

    Is there a trace that will inform me if an authenticated login attempts to access a resource that they do not have permissions to?

    For example:
    Code:
    REVOKE SELECT on dbo.table TO [this user]
    Is there an event I can trap this command?
    Code:
    EXECUTE AS USER = 'this user';
    SELECT  *
    FROM    dbo.system_parameters
    Thanks

    The errors events should give you a hit, whenever someone gets a permission denied error. in order to see the "interesting" hits, you would probably want to trace RPC Starting, and T-SQL starting, with a filter on the textdata field for "%system_parameters%", or some such. The error will show up as a "User Error Message"
