    Unanswered: Migrating Sybase To Oracle

    Sybase Server:

    UPDATE din_request
    SET a.requ_nmdebitur = b.dtd2_nmdebitur,
    a.requ_noktp = b.dtd2_noktp,
    a.requ_tptlahir = b.dtd2_tptlahir,
    a.requ_tgllahir = b.dtd2_tgllahir,
    a.requ_nmibu = b.dtd2_nmibu,
    a.requ_nopaspor = b.dtd2_nopaspor
    FROM din_request a, datadin2 b
    WHERE ( a.requ_cifbank = b.dtd2_cifbank )

    Oracle Server:

    UPDATE din_request
    SET a.requ_nmdebitur = b.dtd2_nmdebitur,
    a.requ_noktp = b.dtd2_noktp,
    a.requ_tptlahir = b.dtd2_tptlahir,
    a.requ_tgllahir = b.dtd2_tgllahir,
    a.requ_nmibu = b.dtd2_nmibu,
    a.requ_nopaspor = b.dtd2_nopaspor
    FROM din_request a, datadin2 b
    WHERE ( a.requ_cifbank = b.dtd2_cifbank )

    Error : Ora-00933 : SQL command not properly ended

    >FROM din_request a, datadin2 b
    above is not valid syntax for UPDATE statement
    You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
    The average person thinks he's above average!
    For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.
    Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.

    Here's the principle; see whether it helps:
    Code:
    update din_request a set
      (requ_nmdebitur, requ_noktp) = (select b.dtd2_nmdebitur, b.dtd2_noktp
                                      from datadin2 b
                                      where b.dtd2_cifbank = a.requ_cifbank
                                     )
      where exists (select null from datadin2 c
                    where c.dtd2_cifbank = a.requ_cifbank
                   );
    Also, check valid UPDATE Oracle syntax here.
