Unanswered: Data Type Mismatch in Excel ODBC

    Hi,

In one of the column of an excel sheet, data contains both numeric & character. When I try to execute SQL using Excel ODBC, I'm getting error message: Data Type Mismatch.

I tried to change the format of that Field as Text, even then I get the same error. The query works fine when I give SQL something with numeric values.

    Hi

I think this is a mismatch between the data in the spreadsheet and the data type of the corresponding field in the database. This would also cause an error if the data in the spreadsheet column is used as a criteria argument in a query if some are text and some are number and the field is numeric.

Without more info it is impossible to say with any certainty

Yes, the problem is with data in sheet.
Some are text and some are number in one of the column.
