Unanswered: Alternative to Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)

    Hi,

Am looking for a tool to use in-lieu of Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Can someone please recommend one, preferably free or open source or at least cheap? The most important feature is being able to use it for performance monitoring kinda like AWR/ADDM thing. Would be a big plus if it can include a reporting tool option as well, similar to the OEM report ... :-)

Any advise/suggestion/feedback will be very much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Why? OEM is included in the Oracle license.

    Hi LKBrwn,

OEM is free until you realize the most helpful part of it is not free, i.e. AWR and ADDM. According to Oracle Support, even the notification part need a license.

Grid Control/OEM is free including the alerting/monitoring/AWR etc.
AWR actually has nothing to do with OEM. You can run AWR reports manually.

Just the management packs and tuning packs are not free.

(NOTE: assumption is that you have Enterprise Edition)
