I've been posting many questions in this forum. Don't get tired of answering all my questions. Thanks for all the people who are generously sharing their knowledge in SQL.
But here is another question, Do I have to declare the variables in the call of the stored procedure? I mean explicit say that is a varchar, char, integer and IN or OUT I have read that you the argument list/ or variables should be the same as defined in the one that you are calling.
The data types of the parameters when calling a stored procedure do not have to exactly match those as defined by the stored procedure, but then have to be easily converted to the correct data type. I would however state that if you can, you should define them to exactly match. It would save any potential headaches later.
