    Unanswered: Sql server installation issue

    Hi

I have been trying to install sqlserver express 2008. Previously I had 2005 which I completely removed manually with registry entry as it was not uninstalled properly.
    I got error
The MOF compiler could not connect with the WMI server. This is either
because of a semantic error such as an incompatibility with the existing WMI
repository or an actual error such as the failure of the WMI server to start.

WMI services are auto started on system
I tried to remove and rebuild the repository, but then after installation failed.
I have system local and user locale same as suggested by some thread.

attached is log file generated by diagnostic utility:

    Setup log file :

Try to turn off the firewall on your client. It may be blocking WMI requests.
