    Unanswered: copy an mssql db file to another pc

    hi!
    i am new here..

    i want to ask how can i copy a database from a pc to another(i want to do that with a usb)

    i cannot find where my database path is(i use mssql 2005)

    Dear Vagelis,
    you can install mysql-gui-tools-5.0-r17-win32 application. It will help you to take backup and restore options. it is a gui application.

    Except for the actual tools used, sql-programmers has the right idea. You can back up the database to a file, and transfer that copy to the other machine. If you have SQL Server management studio, it is just right click on the database, and find backup in that menu. Similarly on the other PC, right click on the databases folder, and look for restore options.
