    Unanswered: connection issue with oracle 9i

    Hi i have installed oracle 9i in my pc.

    I am trying to use sqlplus but getting problem while connecting.

    PFA the tnsnames.ora and listener.ora files.

    i am getting error that TNS listener cudn't resolve name SERVICE_NAME given in connect descriptor (ORA-12514)

    sid (set while installing db) = oracledb
    global db name = oracledb

    lsnrctl status
    set
    lsnrctl service
    tnsping oracledb

    Try this tnsnames.ora entry instead of yours:
