    Unanswered: DB2 9.5 HADR licensing

    Hi -

We are implementing DB2 V9.5 HADR. As known, HADR is a feature of DB2 ESE.

    Question:

*) Do we need to buy ESE license for the standby server to implement HADR?

    Thanks,
    Panditt

AFAIK, you don't need a full license. You pay a partial license.

    Look at the pages below:

Licensing distributed DB2 9.5 servers in a high availability (HA) environment

This is a general one. Your site may have a different licnesing agreement with IBM. Check with your account manager.

I think, if you intend to use this feature, licensing cost increases.

You are right. It might become Hot standby at that point and not warm standby anymore
