    Unanswered: How make PostgreSQL 8.0.0.1-rc and PostgreSQL 8.4 shared same port 5432?

    Hi all,

    please guide me how make that different version of postgresql version can run in 1 port?I have installed 8.0 version and 8.4 version cannot work/connect.

    Not possible.
    A port can only be opened by a single program.

    hmmm..... what your suggesttion for moving data from postgre 8.0.0 to postgre 8.4?i am using window xp.thanks.

    postgre 8.0.0 usually "hang" after data reach 10k. How to fix it?

    You need to provide a lot more information about your problem:

    - DDL for the tables involved
    - The SQL being executed
    - What exactly does "hang" mean?
    - What exactly does "after data reach 10k" mean? The size of the table? The number of rows retrieved? The number of rows inserted? The number of rows deleted?
    - Why don't you use a recent version of 8.0 (8.0.24 is the current version of the 8.0 branch)
