    Unanswered: Interview Question On Deadlock

    Hi All,

I was asked a question in Interivew.

Do you have ever faced deadlock condition in Oracle Stored Procedure?
    What was your approach?
How did you resolved deadlock in your application.

    can anybody share their experience?

    Regards,

usually due to a procedure making a good deal of transactions against multiple rows in multiple tables but with no specific order of precedence.

then you have parallel sessions all calling this same procedure.

    session 1 = modify table A row 10
    session 2 = modify table A row 5
    session 1 = modify table A row 5
    session 2 = modify table A row 10

both sessions procedures try to commit at the end and what do you have?
    a big fuckup is what.
