    Unanswered: SQL Query help please

Hey, I'm in need of some help with writing a sql query. I'm fairly new to SQL so this might be a simple question to answer.

Ok, so I have a table and I had to add another column to this table thats already populated. I used the ALTER TABLE ADD commands. After I add the column how to I populate that just the new column I added.

If anyone could point me in the right direction for this, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks.

    Code:
    UPDATE your_table
    SET your_new_column = 'some value!'
    WHERE some_condition = is_true
