Unanswered: How to assign backup and restore rights to a login/user ?

    Hi fellows,

Am having confusion regarding assignment of Backup and restore rights to any user in sql server 2000 server.
I am having sql server 2000 std edition and multiple users who have thier multiple databases as per their login rights.

Now I want to give rights to take backup and restore at their own end.

My users are on network, they will take backup on remote path and restore the backup from remote path to server.

    Regards,

Several things need to happen all at once, here.
The Service account for SQL Server needs to have rights to all the destinations.
The users will need to be db_owner of the database(s) they need to back up.
To restore a database, the user will need to have the dbcreator server role.

There may be other things to grant, but I think this is the minimum.
