I have SQL server 2008 installed on my machine(XP) and I am trying to test the '3 times login failed' policy. I have 'CHECK POLICY' and 'CHECK expiration' boxed checked when creating SQL logins and the 'LOCAL security policy' for 'account lockout threshold' is set to 3. However, when I enter the wrong pwd more than 3 times, the OS should lock my sql account but my account is still NOT locked.

If I do the same thing on Windows 2003 server, the sql account is locked but not on XP.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening?
