    Unanswered: Calling Unix Shell script

    Hi,

    I have a peculiar requirement..

I want to call a unix shell script through a button mechanism, like in VB.
When a user clicks on that button, the unix script should be called..

Is there any scenario for this. Could you please help me out...

    Thanks,
    Harshad.

From a Windows environment you could initiate the script through a buttonclick in the clientapplication (e.g. in VB, Delphi or C++) using a remote procedure call but I'm not familiar whith that.
Usually I do this from the (Windows) clientapplication through the connected databaseserver on Linux calling a stored procedure that performs the call to the shellscript.

    Regards,
    Hans
