Unanswered: Need to Filter Duplicate Companies and Phone Numbers in Access

    Hi,

This is my first attempt to post on any forum and if I make a mistake my apologies.

I am attempting to create a DB with the function of running reports that find call data and sorts it by company. However, I have reached a problem that I cannot solve.

    Here is the Problem

    1. Customers call our call centers and we are given data.
    2. That data is pulled from online and put into excel spreadsheets
    3. Some callers call companies more than once. (Major Issue)
    4. I only need to count the 1 time they call in the billing year.

I have a huge table of calls and have manually done some filtering but would rather have it automated.

    The table looks like this:
Date Time DID Phone Customer Queue Answered Minutes Duplicate CityID

i want to write a VBA script that allows access to put a yes or no in the duplicate column if the "Phone" and "DID" have occurred more than once. Thanks for any input.

    Welcome!

First, you should not be storing the calculation for "Duplicate" in a field in the record. For accuracy, this should be calculated as needed.

I would recommend using a sub query to calculate the "Duplicate" value.

    Hope this helps ...

thanks for the tip. I apologize for my delayed reply. I have been working on other projects. I am now attempting to set up a combo box filter in a form and have a query's data displayed in a subform that is controlled by the combo box. Any articles or books to read, or does anyone know how to accomplish this?

    Thanks,

    Jakim
