That's all explained in the license agreement that you agreed to before you downloaded the software.

    Hi,

I have now downloaded all the 2 files for installation and even the documentation for the same.

Do I need to put both zip files into one folder? ( I tried this but some files have the same name which is getting replaced? Is it Ok?

I went through the documentation of installation and its too heavy. does any one have a smipler version of installation of Oracle 11G.

    Cheers,
    Mohan

Unzip each file into it's own folder, and run the installer in the first folder - at some point in the installation you'll be asked for another disk, just point the installer to the second folder.

There is no 'one page' installation guide for Oracle, unfortunately. To be honest, the documentation isn't THAT hard to follow, and personally I prefer comprehensive guidance to just an overview.

If you are just trying oracle, I wouldn't use 11i, I would use oracle express (xe), which has a one step installer.

I am just started learing Oracle which includes ( SQL & PL SQL ).

I also downloaded Oracle 11g software form OTN Oracle Technology and tried installing in my lap, but there were many errors and once was done it was taking me to login screen only i was able to give ID - scott / system and it promted for password which was not accepting there was some adapter error. literally my week end was lost in installing Oracle 11g.

I need some ones help in getting oracle installed in my lap top. Prefrebly a simple guide ( though i downloaded documents from Oracle technology)

    NO
for example mysql recognizes LIMIT while Oracle does not.

If you cannot read the instructions then what is left?
The install instructions are right on the download page.
How do you expect to learn oracle if you cannot follow the very first step?
