    Unanswered: A mainframe programmer new to Access and VBA, and truly need help

    I will be asking a lot of questions..so please be patient. I created the form and some code. However, when testing my program, I am getting the compile error: User-defined type not defined on the following code

    Dim Conn As ADODB.Connection
    Set Conn = CurrentProject.Connection
    Dim RS As New ADODB.Recordset
    RS.ActiveConnection = Conn

    I found out that under the TOOLS--> REFERENCES, I have to select ACTIVEX DATA OBJECTS 2.8 LIBRARY in the reference list. That selection does not exist. Can I access it somewhere else, can I download it? or should I use DAO connectivity. If I use DAO, what does the code look like?

    Thanks in advance for your help!
