Unanswered: Prevent Inheritance in Parent-Child tables

    Hi,

I am new to PostgreSQL database. I have created two tables called Parent and Child.

with inherits(parent), we can inherit all columns from parent to child.
But is there a way that child could inherit ONLY few columns from parent table??

In other words, Child doesn't have few columns compred to parent.

    Thanks

No. And if you need to, that is a pretty good indication that you may not be modeling this correctly. You may need one base table with two child tables.
