Unanswered: How Do You Troubleshoot Error Messages??

    Hey guys,

Bear with me, I'm a total noob here, and my frustation is that whenever I get snytax errors, I have no clue where to look for the problem. Does the error message instead give any indication exactly what line or space is causing the error? For example, I get:

    42601(-104)[IBM][CLI Driver][DB2] SQL0104N An unexpected token "`" was found following "". Expected tokens may include: "<IDENTIFIER>". SQLSTATE=42601
    (0.06 secs)

It's complaining about some character, but I don't know what line to look at.
