    Unanswered: db2 v8 log

    We're burning through our 8 meg logs every minute. So, if I change the log arch method, will this require an immediate offline full backup?

    Presently at

    UPDATE DB CFG FOR ourdb USING logarchmeth1 "DISK:E:\log_archive" logprimary 3 logsecond 2 logfilsiz 2000;

    That certainly depends on what you change it to.

    The following parms are way too low:

    logprimary 3
    logsecond 2
    logfilsiz 2000

    I don't believe that changes to logprimary and logfilsiz take effect until the database is deactivated.
