Talking DDL and DML structure and syntax

    Hello DBs,

I have a huge favor to ask of you. What books, websites are good to learn SQL DDL and DML structure and syntax? Not sure where to begin? Is DDL and DML specific to a certain platform like Oracle, etc? I am lost.

no, it is common to all database systems that use SQL

DDL is Data Definition Language, and it is that part of SQL which defines the database components, using statements like CREATE, ALTER, and DROP

DML is Data Manipulation Language, and it is that part of SQL which changes the data inside the database components, using statements like INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, and SELECT

Thank you r937! Is there one book/site you can mention that would further explain how to use these languages? Your answer would be HUGELY appropriated! Does your book teach about these languages?
