    Question Unanswered: Quick Question

    Quick Question

Is there away in criteria for a query that you can set it so that only the oldest date is pulled? If so can some one tell me how?

    Thanks,

Probably depends on what you're trying to achieve. One way would be the TOP predicate:

    SELECT TOP 1 ...
    FROM TableName
    ORDER BY DateField

That didn't achieve what I am trying to do.

The query gives depart, name, create date and req number. I only want one record though for a req number and none of the tables have primary keys to them. I didn't design this database just trying to work with what I have.

Accept that it isn't the most recent date I need. It's the Original date that I need...
