Unanswered: restore datafile without backupset
I created a new database 10.2.0.1.0, took an RMAN hot backup.
I deleted the backupset created and droped the datafile after shutting down the database.
When I again try to open, it throws me an error in opening as expected.
Now when I try to restore the datafile using RMAN(backupset already expired)
, it restored the datafile after throwing an error
MAN-03090: Starting restore at 10-JUN-10
RMAN-06009: using target database control file instead of recovery catalog
RMAN-08030: allocated channel: ORA_DISK_1
RMAN-08500: channel ORA_DISK_1: sid=156 devtype=DISK
RMAN-06064: creating datafile fno=5 name=E:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\ORADATA\ASHU\ASHU_1. DBF
RMAN-06177: restore not done; all files readonly, offline, or already restored
RMAN-03091: Finished restore at 10-JUN-10
Can anyone please help let me know, how it is possible:
1. without backup set available.
2.controlfile is autobackup
3.database in archive mode
I assume E:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\ORADATA\ASHU\ASHU_1. DBF was the file you supposedly deleted? Do you still see this file on the filesystem?
So do you actually have a backup or not?
