    Unanswered: SQL Server information

    Hi All,

I am new to SQL Server but having little knowledge about SQL Server 2000.
Can any of you please provide me the information about what are the major differences in SQL 2000 and SQL Server 2005 (DBA prospective and Developer prospective) and also difference between SQL Server 2005 and SQL server 2008.

    Thanks in advance,

What's wrong with the release notes, or the new features guide?

What kind of differences interest you? You'd need to take a basic class or spend a day or two studying to be able to answer these questions in general terms, and would need extensive experience to provide technically detailed answers to specific questions.

From a business perspective, vendor support is usually the primary concern. Microsoft support for the versions varies. From an IT management perspective, compatibilty with specific products is often the primary concern. From the end user perspective, the only real concern is "can my geeks do what I need with it" and the Geeks have to answer that question.

In theory, theory and practice are identical. In practice, theory and practice are unrelated.
