    Unanswered: list Database Objects for a schema

    Hi,

    I've just had a developer ask me to take an export of a particular schema.

    I am familiar with the export/import but I wanted to do a count of the
    objects for that schema prior to the export. Basically is there a SQL
    syntax to tell me the number of tables, view, Lobs etc for a particular schema?

    Many thanks

    ps: I'm sure it is select count (*) from dba_objects blah blah where username

    So what is your question if you already know the answer?

    SELECT OBJECT_TYPE, COUNT(*) blah blah

    solved

    I did not have the correct syntax - only half

    but for anyone who is interested the syntax is as follows:-

    select count (*), object_type from dba_objects where owner = 'DBFORUMS' group by object_type;

    Thanks
