    Unanswered: DB2 LOCK TABLE / Respond slow

    Hello All,

    We are creating a test scenario, Where in I want DB2 to respond slowly to the queries fired by our application.

    I tried locking table in exclusive mode, but our application managed to retrieve results quickly.

    Can anybody help me out in order to lock a table for 5 minutes or in any way can we make db2 respond slowly?

    Any help would be highly appreciated.

    Make sure that the following are set:

    CUR_COMMITT = DISABLED (or OFF) - 9.7 only
    LOCKTIMEOUT = -1

    Then make sure you lock the table in exclusive mode for 5 minutes, then do a commit to release the locks.

    Yes that was what I missed, I could lock table after turning off auto commit.
    Thanks a lot for your help
