My table is:
create table ENT004
PK decimal(21,0) not null,
F1 char(10) character set utf8 null,
primary key (PK)
I thought that because I have specified the "character set utf8" for the column, so it should be possible to store 10 double bytes Unicode characters in the F1 column, but I get the following error:
"Data too long for column 'F1' at row 1"
In fact I can only store up to 5 Unicode characters.
Could you please explain to me how to make it possible to store 10 Unicode characters in the CHAR(10) column?
