    Unanswered: VLookup in Access

Hello, I'm trying to figure out how to do a vlookup equivalent in access.

    For Excel:
    .....A..........................B................. .............C................................D
    1...Full Name......Supervisor'sName.....Supervisor's Position......Supervisor's Boss
    2... Kristi .................Jane.....................Manager. .........................Mike
    3...Jane.....................Mike................. ....Director..........................#N/A

I'm trying to auto-populate the column "Supervisor's Boss". I was able to get Mike for Jane's boss for the first line by using the vlookup formula in excel. =VLOOKUP(B3,$E$2:$G$649,2,FALSE)

But in Access I tried DLookup, IIF, and I'm not getting any results.

Please let me know if you have any thoughts on doing this.

Where is the data you're looking up coming from and how is the data stored?

If it's as simple as it sounds, you're describing simple table relationships. Is there a wrinkle that you haven't described?

I have everything in one table in Access. I pulled some of it out of the table and into a query. Then I tried to build an expression in the query that would look for the supervisor's supervisor and couldn't figure out the expression to use.
