Post Attach database failed in sql server 2008

    Hi All,

I could not attached the .mdf file from the tap drive to the sql server 2008.
The tap drive have only database .mdf file, it is not having log (.ldf) file.

I have attached the error details:

Attach database failed for Server 'SERVER'

    Additional information:
An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement or bath.
One or more files do not match the primary file of the database. If you are attempting to attach a database, retry the operation with the correct files. If this is an existing database, the file may be corrupted and should be restored from a backup. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 5173)

    Thanks in advance.

Why do you have an mdf file on a tape drive? Especially without a log file?

Anyway, I've never had to do this myself but google for
"sql server attach database without log"
    e.g.
SQL Server Forums - Attach MDF without LDF
