    Unhappy Unanswered: How to open a form over data block using PL/SQL

    Hi all,

    I have created an application using oracle forms in which there is a canvas with two data blocks A and B...

    A has a hierarchical tree.... I want that when I click on node of this tree than a form gets opened in the data block B....

    How can I do this.... Please help...

    You can't - as far as I can tell. A "data block" is what its name suggests - it is not a "window" that contains another executable.

    You could, though, use one of built-ins which are meant to open another form: CALL_FORM, OPEN_FORM or NEW_FORM. Check Forms Online Help System and search for those procedures.

    Hi littlefoot,

    Is there any other method of doing this task... Actually I want features like that of AJAX wherein clicking on tree node just refreshes a particular area not the entire form.... please help

    Even if it is possible, I don't know anything about it. Sorry.

    Perhaps you could check the OTN Forms forum. People there discuss Forms only, while here, on dBforums, you won't find many Forms developers.
