Unanswered: Distinct Count of Sub-Group item

Hi there, am wondering if there is a way in Access to perform a Distinct Count on an item found in a Sub-Group. You see, I have a report where the first group is Location, then the second group is Encounter Type. What I am looking for is to get a distinct count of encounter types in the report footer section. An encounter type can appear multiple times throughout the report under different locations, but I need to be able to count this item only once and place it in the Report Footer section.

I can do this in Crystal Reports, but can't seem to figure this out in Access.

Thank you VERY MUCH for your time and assistance.

am not totally clear what you are asking/saying; but to count a field based on its content you might try an unbound textbox in the footer with this type code:
    Sum(IIF([EncounterType] = "XYZ", 1, 0)

Hi there, I already have a distinct count in the subgroup (ENCTR_TYPE), but now I need to have a distinct count over the entire report and for some reason, I can't seem to get it. Maybe you might know how to accomplish this.

    Thank you.
