    Unanswered: Error in transaction log backup

    Hi folks,

    i have a instance which is running with say 11 ddatabase, in which i want to backup the transactional log of test database. in archive logging

    CONNECT TO TEST;
    QUIESCE DATABASE IMMEDIATE FORCE CONNECTIONS;
    UNQUIESCE DATABASE;
    CONNECT RESET;
    UPDATE DB CFG FOR TEST USING logarchmeth1 "DISK:\DB2\NODE0000\SQL00003" logprimary 2 logsecond 1 logfilsiz 1024 newlogpath E:\log;
    BACKUP DATABASE TEST TO "E:\backup_db" WITH 2 BUFFERS BUFFER 1024 PARALLELISM 1 WITHOUT PROMPTING;


    it throws an error
    ERROR:

    The instance "NDED15F3" does not exist on host "grid0-0C-1C-74".

    Explanation:

    The DB2 Administration Server on host "<hostname>" failed to execute a
    request because the instance "<instance-name>" provided in the request
    does not exist on the host.


    pls help me....

    do you run the command via control centre at client side? can you make connection to your database at your client side?

    no i din run the command first... i tried with GUI in control centre.. then i tried the command in control centre... both times it shows the same error...

    Have you tried it on a regular shell? Also, what's the message number for this error?

    i have solved it when instance and host is running in same , then it is working fine...
