Unanswered: How to print values of internal ?

I am a bit of a newbie to source codes. I want to print values of internals (in the bufmgr.c file) like BlockNumber. Please suggest me ways of accessing these variable values. Are there ways of printing it to stdout ?

You want to access the internal postgreSQL variables, while the postgreSQL server process is running?

Using a debugger in conjunction with the compiler, I would guess. I'm not familiar with PostgreSQL's internals, but, very few compiled executables are designed to make internal data structures easily available to external apps.
